The DIVINE DEBATE Between GOD and JESUS CHRIST vs. Satan and Antichrist
on Sunday, August 16, 2020 by Bill SalusThis topic is explored in greater detail in my book entitled, The FINAL Prophecies, in the chapter entitled, “The Mark of the Beast and the Global Religion of the Antichrist.”
In the grand scheme of things, that which is of extreme importance to mankind, is the existence of the RESURRECTION. Biblically, it is the super sign above all other signs. It is the sign that Jesus Christ gave to the apostate Jewish leadership at the time of His first advent, and it is also the sign that Satan will use to get the world to worship the Antichrist.
Therefore, in the Divine Debate between GOD and JESUS CHRIST vs. Satan and Antichrist, whoever represents the RESURRECTION WINS. Let’s pick up the debate with the words of Jesus Christ to the apostate religious leaders at the time of His first coming.
Jesus Christ, upon speaking to the Jews, who had asked him for a sign that would accredit Him as being their Messiah, replied:
• “Evil and unfaithful people look for a miraculous sign. But the only sign they will be given is that of Jonah.” (Matthew 16:4),
• ““Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” (Jesus was alluding to Himself as the temple). Then the Jews said, “It has taken forty-six years to build this, (Second Jewish), temple, and will You raise it up in three days?”” (John 2:19-20, NKJV; emphasis added),
• ‘Yes in three days…”, “An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.” (Matthew 12:39-40, NKJV; emphasis added),
Jesus Christ’s sign to the apostate Jewish leadership was His resurrection. He had already prior to this miraculous event performed an abundance of miracles and healings, but He knew that in the end analysis, the super sign that showed undeniable proof that he was the Messiah, was the resurrection.
Moreover, Jesus said to those same “evil and unfaithful people,” that, “You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.” (John 8:44).
From Satan’s perspective, these accusations represented a deep-rooted indictment upon him that stemmed back approximately 4000 years prior at the time of his interactions with Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, which are chronicled in Genesis 3.
At that time, Satan had promised Eve that the eating of the forbidden fruit would not result in death like God said, but would result in the antithesis of death, which was being like God and possessing eternal life, and with the knowledge of good and evil.
“Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”” (Genesis 3:4-5)
Now this statement to Eve was truly a murderous lie from the direct lips of the father of lies because the phenomenon of death entered into the creation from that point forward. Death is undeniably the ultimate concern of every person because it represents the final physical human condition. This is why the resurrection, which represents victory over death, is understandably the super sign above all other signs.
Upon hearing Christ’s allegations, Satan, who according to 1 John 5:19 has powerful influence over the world, likely thought, “We shall see who’s the father of lies. I will influence your own Jewish people to take You before the governing Roman authorities and have you crucified on the cross… Then we will see if you can conquer the certain finality of death, and if you are unable, then you are the liar, rather than I.”
And so this is what happened, Christ was crucified. He indeed went into the heart of the earth for three days, like Jonah went into the belly of the whale for three days. The GOOD NEWS for us is that He kept His promise to resurrect from the grave, but the bad news for Satan and his minions is summed up in the passage below.
“Having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.” (Colossians 2:14-15)
These verses simply mean that the requirements of the Mosaic Law, which man had failed to fulfill, were nailed to the cross by Christ, Who as a man fulfilled the Law. In so doing, Christ removed these restraints from man. Furthermore, Christ made a public spectacle of Satan and his minions by “triumphing over them in it.” The triumph was achieved through the resurrection.
From that point forward, Satan has had to live with the defaming title of being the “father of lies.” Even the dumbest of the fallen angels has likely realized by now that Christ bested Satan in this divine debate.
However, the discussion has not yet concluded. God has allotted Satan a brief window period of time, during the Seven-Year Tribulation period of the end times, to rebut the 2000-year old accusations of Jesus Christ that were levied against him.
Satan’s well calculated plan is to forward his prodigy called, the Antichrist, as his argument against the allegations of Jesus Christ. Like Christ, the Antichrist will be killed. This lethal event is alluded to in Revelation 13:3,12 and 14. Also, like Christ, this counterfeit of Satan will resurrect from the dead. We are informed in Revelation 13:3-4, that when this happens Satan will be credited for this super miracle and the world will marvel and follow the Antichrist and also worship Satan.
The resurrection of the Antichrist will go a long way to argue Satan’s case that he was correct in his statement to Eve. Satan can successfully declare, “I have power over death. So, even if you do die, I can resurrect you so that death is not your final destination.”
Herein, lies Satan’s bigger problem. In John 11:25-26, Jesus claimed, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die.” Note that Christ didn’t say, “Satan or the Antichrist was the resurrection and the life.”
Therefore, we can safely conclude that Satan’s counterfeit resurrection is of a different nature than Christ’s. Although it appears to be genuine, it is not likely a resurrection of a true human being. A human is made in the image of God according to Genesis 1:27 and elsewhere. Jesus Christ was resurrected in the image of God. According to John chapter one and elsewhere, Jesus is God. He is part of the Holy Trinity.
If the Antichrist were to be resurrected in the image of God, then Jesus Christ would be obligated to recant his boast of being the Resurrection! This was an exclusive declaration, which was not intended to be loosely used.
So, if it’s not of the human variety, then what is the actual nature of the resurrected Antichrist? Is it an altered DNA configuration that Satan has discovered, which can seemingly recreate a being in the likeness of a man? This topic is explored in greater detail in my book entitled, The FINAL Prophecies, in the chapter entitled, “The Mark of the Beast and the Global Religion of the Antichrist.”
